The RoboCup Junior leagues OnStage, Rescue, and Soccer offer teams three exciting areas in which they can design and program their own robots as they wish. Each league has its own particular appeal due to its thematic focus.
In addition to the international leagues, entry leagues are offered in Germany in which teams cannot qualify for the world championship. In the Soccer discipline, the Soccer leagues â1:1 Entryâ and â1:1 Lightweightâ provide an ideal introduction to RoboCup. Only one robot is required, constructed using commercially available robot construction kits from Lego or Fischertechnik. In the Rescue discipline, the two leagues Rescue Line Entry and Rescue Maze Entry have been offered since 2018. There is also now an OnStage Entry league.
RoboCup Junior tournaments have been held annually in Germany since 2001. The number of teams increases each year. In 2019, there were more than 600 teams nationwide, with around 1,750 participating students.
In nine regional qualification tournaments, held from January to March 2026, the German RoboCup Junior teams that are allowed to compete in the final of the 23rd RoboCup German Open in Cologne will be determined.
