Dear teachers and students,We cordially invite you to visit the RoboCup German Open 2024. The most important European robotics event will take place from April 18 to 21 at Messe Kassel. The German Open is an absolute science magnet for schoolchildren. In addition to more than 30 national and international teams from colleges, universities and companies, the best 200 German school teams with participants aged 10 to 19 will also be competing. For the 2023/24 season, a staggering 1400 pupils in 540 teams from schools across Germany registered for eight regional qualifying tournaments. The RoboCup is a project with a broad impact.
For the young participants from Germany, the RoboCupJunior competitions in 3 leagues and 10 disciplines serve as a platform to promote fun and creativity in tinkering, programming and teamwork. The young talents present their innovative developments from the various fields of robotics and compete in exciting application disciplines. RoboCupJunior-OnStage, for example, is a particularly popular league with the greatest scope for construction, creativity and design. Using a specially created choreography, the robots move to music, dance, tell a story together with their team or put on a short play on the playing field, or rather the stage. There is also a lot of fun and excitement in the competitions between the autonomous humanoid soccer robots of the major teams, where spectators can cheer right on the sidelines.
By the way: In 2050, the humanoid robot footballers of the RoboCup World Association want to challenge the reigning soccer world champions - and of course beat them. That will be difficult. However, the RoboCup competitions are not just about soccer leagues, but also about the development of intelligent robots for domestic and industrial use. The Rescue League for intelligent life-saving missions in dangerous disaster areas is also an exciting innovative area of application. Rescue missions of this kind are simulated in the competitions. To be able to master such dangerous scenarios in the future, we need the coolest and best young researchers from all over the world. Maybe you want to be part of it?
Come along and be inspired by the young talents and their remarkable achievements!
